For referring professionals

Make a referral

We take referrals from local authorities, probation, social workers and charities across Birmingham and the West Midlands — and we give you a straight answer quickly.

Who we work with

Referral partners

Local authorities

Housing options teams, homelessness prevention and temporary accommodation placements.

Probation and resettlement

Approved premises move-on, licence conditions and resettlement placements.

Social workers

Care leavers, adults with support needs, and safeguarding-led placements.

Charities and support services

Outreach teams, hostels, day centres and specialist support organisations.

The process

Three steps from referral to placement

01

Complete the referral form

Fill in our referral and initial assessment form online. If it's urgent, call us as well — we'll prioritise it.

02

We assess and match

We review the referral against current vacancies and suitability, and come back with what we can offer.

03

Placement and move-in

Room is furnished and ready. A named support worker is introduced and one-to-ones start straight away.

What we accept

Who we can place

  • Single adults aged 18 and over
  • People leaving temporary or emergency accommodation
  • Care leavers moving towards independence
  • People on probation licence or in resettlement
  • People at risk of homelessness who need stability
  • People discharged from hospital needing a supported setting

If you're not sure whether someone fits, call us rather than assuming. We would much rather have the conversation than have a placement fail two weeks in.

What to send us

What we need to assess a referral

  • Name, date of birth and current accommodation status
  • Support needs, risk assessment and any relevant history
  • Income and benefit position, including housing benefit or Universal Credit
  • Any safeguarding concerns or exclusions we need to know about
  • Preferred areas and how soon the placement is needed
  • Your contact details as the referring worker

All of this goes in the online referral form, which is sent securely and only seen by the REAI team. Please keep personal details out of the quick question form below.
